Ministry to Pastoras

Amazing times of worship In CR

Sunset just before worship

As we transition into the muted colors and crisp skies of autumn, our family is reminded of how often God’s hand in nature reflects the work which He is accomplishing in our lives.  There’s a change of seasons taking place, both in the natural and the spiritual, and it’s lovely to behold.

We returned to Costa Rica in late September as our ministry hosted its first pastoral training conference. Although it was a whirlwind trip, it was nothing short of amazing! Forty-five pastors and leaders from across Costa Rica came for two days of teaching, worship and fellowship. The conference focused on two themes: Building the Kingdom and Activating the “Higher Gifts” (1 Corinthians 12:31). The name of Jesus was truly glorified through transformed hearts and numerous miracles. Many pastors experienced powerful physical healing; prophetic words bolstered hearts; incredible times of worship brought streams of refreshing. We felt honored and humbled to stoke revival fires for these precious servants and are confident that Jesus is doing a mighty work in His Church in Costa Rica. Due to the needs of our extended family on the home front, we are not planning another six-month term in Central America this coming January. Instead, we will travel back and forth to Costa Rica as needed, leading outreach trips and hosting pastoral training conferences. Here in the States, we’ll continue working to build awareness for CRSSM while serving in a greater leadership capacity at our home church, Heritage Christian Fellowship.

Frankly, it’s been a challenge not having a permanent home for the past three months, but couch-surfing and house-sitting has brought with it some amazing times of fellowship as well as a deep experience of the wide love of friends and family. We are richly blessed! We are believing the Lord for an affordable rental home to come our way this week, as our current house-sitting gig is coming to a close.

The last quarter has also brought significant change in the lives of our kids. Jarren has moved from Seattle to Phoenix in order to complete his commercial pilot’s licensing. Since finishing ministry school in Redding, Kylene has moved back to SoCal where she is volunteering in ministry at Heritage while also working as a nanny. Alyssa migrated a few hours north to attend Westmont College in Santa Barbara and is thriving in the new vistas which college provides. Landon began his junior year at Capistrano Valley Christian School and currently commutes daily on the train from Oceanside.

We are so grateful for your partnership with us. Your prayers and words of life have sustained us during some tough transitional moments — please keep praying!  We have a very real need for you to intercede, as your prayers bring breakthrough, encouragement and direction both for us personally and for the work which God is accomplishing in Costa Rica.

Additionally, we need your partnership financially. If you have not yet considered coming alongside us in this way, would you pray about whether this might be the season? We are deeply thankful to have your financial support, no matter what the amount.

Lastly, would you consider being part of an outreach trip to Costa Rica in 2017? We’re confident it will impact your life in tremendous ways. Let us know if you or your church would like more information.

We are praying for you, our treasured loved ones. May the Lord continually draw you into deeper waters!

Grace and peace,

The Nesbitts
