Marked by more travel than normal, this past winter and spring were full and fruitful, and the coming summer promises to be just as eventful. We’ll attempt to loop you into our recent adventures in as brief a space as possible.
CANOPI News
In response to the growing number of requests to visit new nations, we are currently producing the CANOPI Podcast! Recording in both English and Spanish, we are creating a library of all the foundational messages which we’ve been bringing to Central American pastors for the past 10 years. This will enable us to maximize our small team’s effectiveness and finances while still equipping Latin American leaders.
With that being said, our pastoral conferences are continuing with several events planned in the upcomming seasson. Our first trip will be in July to Costa Rica, where we will be holding a pastors’ conference near beautiful La Fortuna in the Arenal region of the country.
Our next location represents CANOPI’s expansion into new territory, as the Lord has opened an effective door for us in Honduras! We have confirmed two back-to-back conferences in Comayagua, Honduras for this September. Please pray for us as we break ground in this nation!
In between these events we will be leading an outreach in Costa Rica with a team of 25 people from the US. We’re excited to minister with this group on the streets, in schools, and in churches, with a focus on the cities of Quepos and Jaco. Please pray that we will be faithful to bring the gospel with signs, wonders, and miracles as we minster to the needy and the lost.
In our last newsletter, we shared with you about the signs and wonders which began occurring in Macuspana after our pastors’ conference there last October. The Lord is continuing that great work with those pastors reporting that revival has come, repeatedly sharing with us miraculous stories of how Jesus is bringing healing, salvation, and deliverance in their midst! We’re also seeing revival in Guanacaste, Costa Rica. Our beloved pastor Eric has experienced remarkable signs and wonders in the past few months, including a divided church being reconciled with their pastor with total gastrectomy being healed, the complete healing of a boy with sickle cell anemia, and the healing of an elderly woman with terminal kidney disease. Thank you Jesus!
NewSong News
Newsong California has multiplied into Oceanside! In January we were thrilled to commission Mitch and Sarah Marmelstein along with Rich and Candi Christman in launching a house church near the downtown Oceanside area. Since that time the team has held several coffee shop worship nights and has ministered often to the homeless in the area. God is using this small band of fearless Jesus lovers to put another stake in the ground for the Kingdom in north San Diego county.
Our annual leaders’ retreat has become our absolute favorite event, and this year’s retreat in February was no exception. There was so much crazy fun, fellowship, and vision casting rolled into an intense three-night weekend. Having all the Newsong shepherds gathered in one location is like honey for our souls, and each year we see the Lord expanding our number. Running alongside these warriors in the Kingdom is one of the greatest privileges of our lives! A few of the vision-casting sessions are available here.
The first half of this year also brought…
- Worship training in Tucson: In February we brought training to a group of emerging worship leaders in Arizona, and the results have been so encouraging. This community is seeing tremendous growth in both their worship response and in their expression of new songs. A portion of that equipping session is available here.
- Growth in the northern Idaho house church: In March, we were grateful to spend time with Jonathan and Janae Kirchner, as well to get to know several members of their house-church community. If you are looking for a Spirit-filled family of believers that chases passionately after Jesus in the greater Coeur d’Alene region, this is your tribe!
- Our first Newsong marriage seminar in Arizona: We were privileged to spend most of May in Tucson, building relationships with this beautiful community of Jesus-lovers. During that trek, we shared alongside Jason Anderson on the topic of marriage with couples who gathered from the three Tucson house churches. We witnessed the Holy Spirit bring significant encouragement and healing to marriages, both new and seasoned. Those teaching sessions are available here.
- Ongoing salvation and baptisms: God is powerfully on the move! We’ve seen salvation, baptisms, deliverance, and healing across all of the house churches. What an amazing time in history this is!
- Newsong’s 5-year anniversary on May 31.
Lastly, we are anticipating a house church expansion into Costa Rica on the horizon. Stay tuned for a launch later this summer in the western beach town of Esterillos Oeste.
Publishing News
Streamroots publishing is now selling direct!
We’ve uncovered a better customer solution than Amazon, and while we’re still reliant upon POD (print-on-demand) services, we now have greater control over the process. This means our prices are lower than Amazon, and the POD turnaround time is faster. For example, The Servant King sells on Amazon for $17.99 and takes about three weeks to print and ship. On our site, it sells for $10 and takes about two weeks.
We’re also celebrating the release of Tiffany’s book, the Into the Wilderness Study Guide, a companion to Into the Wilderness. Tiffany has just launched an in-person seven-week Bible study on social media and has simultaneously kicked off an event tour to minister the love of Jesus to women going through wilderness seasons. If you’d like to host an event like this in your home, please let us know!
To celebrate our bookstore’s “grand opening” and the release of Tiffany’s new study guide, we’re offering 10% off all products for the rest of June. This includes printed books, eBooks, and audiobooks. Visit our bookstore at Streamroots.org and use the coupon code Celebrate10.
Prayer requests:
- For unity among the pastors we’ll encounter in Costa Rica and Honduras in the coming months.
- For a harvest from our summer outreach in Costa Rica.
- For our house-church shepherds, most of whom have families and jobs alongside pastoring a church in their homes.
- For an increase of harvest workers!
Ways that you can help:
- Please help cover the costs for our three upcoming pastoral conferences and our podcast development.
- A monthly pledge of $100 has a huge footprint, as CANOPI is a 100% volunteer organization.
- Support us with a one-time donation by including CANOPI in your tax-deductible giving.
- If you feel called to ministry but are unsure as to how/where to serve, we would love to chat with you.
- Purchase Tiffany’s new book and spread the word.
- Partner with us personally.
